As the Autobots engage the Decepticons in battle, Starscream hits Jetfire, so Vector Prime decides to take on Megatron one on one. He fights him hoping to recover the map, but Megatron refuses. The Decepticons fight their way through Starscream's men, ultimately defeating him and reaching the laboratory with the Dark Energon, restarting its production. After Starscream begs for mercy, Megatron allows him to join the Decepticons, before moving the Dark Energon to a more secure location: the Decepticon capital city of Kaon.
