The Porsche 930 is a turbocharged variant of the 911 model sports car manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Porsche between 1975 and 1989. It was the maker's top-of-the-range 911 model for its entire production duration and, at the time of its introduction, was the fastest production car available in Germany.
Ahead of the 2024 Festival of Speed, Lanzante revealed a limited edition run of three Porsche 930 TAG Turbos called the Championship Edition. These vehicles have benefitted from further weight reduction down to 920kg, alongside engine modifications from McLaren and Cosworth , raising engine power to 625PS and the redline to 10,250rpm.

Ruf debuted their first complete model in 1977, a tuned version of Porsche's 911 Turbo with a stroked, 3.3-litre motor. This was followed in 1978 by Ruf's first complete non-turbo Porsche, the 911 SCR. It was a naturally aspirated 911 with a stroked 3.2-litre motor producing 217 horsepower. Numerous customer orders were placed for this vehicle.
In 2011, Porsche added a new 911 Speedster in a limited series of only 356 units to the 997 lineage, the number of cars produced recalling the iconic car of the 1950s. It was the third 911 Speedster produced, the other two being from the 930 and 964 generations.
Although called simply Porsche 911 Turbo in Europe, it was marketed as the Porsche 930 (930 being its internal type number) in North America. The body shape is distinctive, thanks to wide wheel-arches to accommodate the wide tires, and a large rear spoiler often known as a "whale tail" on the early cars, and "tea-tray" on the later ones.
The 9ff GT9 is a sports car based loosely on the Porsche 911, [2] built by German tuning company 9ff, founded by Jan Fatthauer.Based on the Porsche 911 (997) GT3; the cars are extensively rebuilt and fitted with a heavily modified 3.6-4.0 litre flat 6 engine that produces 738 to 1,120 bhp (550 to 835 kW; 748 to 1,136 PS), depending on the configuration. The 1986 Challenge 2+2 was developed from this; it (and the succeeding Challenge III) had a planned production run of ten cars and used Porsche 930 underpinnings. There was also a "Baby Challenge" for children, presented in 1986. It was powered by a 350-cc, single-cylinder Honda engine. [6]
