Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) (transl. Jawahar New Enlightenment School) is a system of central schools for students predominantly from rural areas in India, targeting socially and economically backward students who lack access to accelerated learning due to financial, social and rural disadvantages.
There are 661 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools in India. [1] These JNVs are governed by eight different regions. These Regional Offices are at Bhopal, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Pune and Shillong which have jurisdiction over different states and union territories of India. [2]
