A Heian Era sorcerer, he was once known notoriously as the King of Curses and well known as the greatest Sorcerer to ever live.
Yuji, Megumi, and Gojo pick up the third and last first-year student Nobara Kugisaki. Gojo brings them to an abandoned building occupied by Curses as a field test for Nobara. Nobara discovers a Curse holding a little boy hostage, and surrenders but Yuji rescues her and she destroys the Curse.
During the duel, Gojo greatly injures Sukuna before his defeat, while Sukuna forces Megumi to be the target of Gojo's Infinite Void attacks. During the showdown with the reincarnated Sukuna, Yuta helps Yuji reach Megumi's soul inside, but the latter is too far gone into darkness and refuses his help.
