The Chamber of Commerce was established in 1917 to represent Hyderabad State of the old Nizam's dominions. After the formation of Andhra Pradesh in 1956, its name was changed to 'The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry'in 1958.
The chamber has an indirect membership of over 250,000 companies from various regional chambers of commerce. [7] It is involved in sector-specific business building, business promotion and networking. Currently, it is headquartered in the national capital New Delhi and has a presence in 12 states in India and 8 countries around the world. [8]

ASSOCHAM was established in 1920 by a group of chambers of commerce led by the Calcutta Traders Association. [6] The Association's head office is located in New Delhi and regional offices are located in the cities of Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Ranchi, Jammu, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Bhubaneswar.
