Goliad State Park and Historic Site is a 188.3 acres (76 ha) state park located along the San Antonio River on the southern edge of Goliad, Texas. [3] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (#01000258) on March 12, 2001.
The park was developed by Gordon Hartman, a former homebuilder from San Antonio. Morgan's Wonderland has had over a net million guests since its opening in 2010. [ 2 ] The park features several attractions including rides, playgrounds, gardens, a catch-and-release fishing lake, a special-event center, and 575-seat amphitheater.
In October 2013, the Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation project was completed, adding 15 miles of hiking, biking, and paddling trails to the San Antonio Missions. [8] This project connects Mission Concepcion, Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada to the San Antonio Riverwalk, through a series of park portals.
The San Antonio River flows through Goliad. Goliad is located near the center of Goliad County at (28.669, –97.392). [25] U.S. Route 59 passes through the center of town as Pearl Street, leading northeast 26 miles (42 km) to Victoria and southwest 29 miles (47 km) to Beeville.
Entrance fees apply. The Zaragoza house is located outside the park grounds about one mile south of the entrance to Goliad State Park . Group tours need to be arranged in advance.
