In nine-dimensional geometry, a rectified 9-cube is a convex uniform 9-polytope, being a rectification of the regular 9-cube. There are 9 rectifications of the 9-cube. The zeroth is the 9-cube itself, and the 8th is the dual 9-orthoplex. Vertices of the rectified 9-cube are located at the edge-centers of the 9-orthoplex.
The Nine-Colour Cube (see below for other names) is a cubic twisty puzzle. [1] It was invented in 2005 by Milan Vodicka [2] and mass-produced by Meffert's seven years later. [3] [4] Mechanically, the puzzle is identical to the Rubik's Cube; however, unlike the 3×3×3 Rubik's Cube, which only has 6 different colours, the Nine-Colour Cube has 9 colours, with the individual pieces having one ...

Automotive design has historically been full of physical skeuomorphisms, such as the transformation from wooden framed and bodied early vehicles produced by coachworks to those which incorporated both functional wood and steel (referred to as "woodies") to, ultimately, simulated vinyl woodgrain cladding entirely for style by the 1960s. Other ...
In geometry, a demienneract or 9-demicube is a uniform 9-polytope, constructed from the 9-cube, with alternated vertices removed. It is part of a dimensionally infinite family of uniform polytopes called demihypercubes. E. L. Elte identified it in 1912 as a semiregular polytope, labeling it as HM 9 for a 9-dimensional half measure polytope.
The bookcase was included in the 1862 International Exhibition in London, where it was displayed in the Medieval Court. A cabinet designed by Burges and painted by Poynter was also displayed at the exhibition. [4] The Great Bookcase was poorly received by the Building News and Architectural Review at the exhibition.
