In October 2011, Jit Sin High School was awarded the title of Cluster School of Excellence [1] (Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan), and is the first vernacular secondary school in Penang to achieve this premier status. A new building due north to the original building was opened on 22 June 2019 for Form 5 and Form 6 students.
The school's rugby team, now known as the 'College Titans', was re-established in 2003 and its players were trained by a rugby player and Form 6 student Azfar Zubri, who once captained the Malaysian U-19 rugby team. The College Titans became stronger each year and this in return sparked the other students' interest in the sport.

In 1977, the school offered arts stream for form 6 after the Methodist High School (MHS) Sitiawan had closed down and ACS Sitiawan recorded the best H.S.C. result in Perak in the same year. In 2009, the ACS Secondary School Sitiawan had 986 boys and 805 girls, making a total of 1791 students, supported by 123 teachers.
