Alhambra High School. Alhambra High School (AHS) is a public high school in Alhambra, California established in 1898. It is a part of the Alhambra Unified School District. The school is located on Second Street, across the street from City Hall and the Police Department, bounded by Second Street, Commonwealth Avenue, Fifth Street, and Main Street.
Alhambra High was founded in 1961, and was, along with East and Maryvale, one of three schools opened by the Phoenix Union High School District in the 1960s. [7] The campus was designed by the noted local architecture firm of Weaver & Drover. The construction contract to build the school was awarded to Gilbert & Dolan Construction Co. [8]
