Todd County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 12,243. [1] Its county seat is Elkton. [2] The county is named for Colonel John Todd, who was killed at the Battle of Blue Licks in 1782 during the American Revolution. [3] [4]

The Old Todd County Courthouse (c.1835) is the second courthouse to be constructed in Todd County, Kentucky [2] The first court house building was constructed on the same site. Planning for the building began in 1834. Construction was begun in 1835 and the project was completed in 1836.
