Having GPU/CPU under 60C underload to be considered ideal is insane. This is not available for most people unless you have some fancy open-loop water cooled set up. Anything under 80C is ideal/good. 80-90C is okay. And 90+, you need to check case/fan set up. New GPUs are rated to reach high temperatures now and even if it gets that high it'll ...
sk9592. •. Anything under 95C is considered safe. But personally, I would keep it below 85C for long term use. Gaming should not stress the CPU at a constant 100%. So if you're consistently seeing temps above 85C, there is something that needs to be fixed. Reply. eddydots. •.
High temps are normal in gaming laptops (due to packing big beefy components in a tiny cramped space) however certain temps are not good for the longevity of the laptop. 90-95 is definitely a concern as 1. Such high temps will decrease the life of components. 2.
29,042. 3,027. 128,640. Feb 19, 2024. #3. This is where you load cinebench and see if it hits the thermal limit. I think the limit is 89 if I remember correctly for a 7800x3d. It depends on your cooler but if you have even a half decent air cooler it will keep it under 89. If cinebench does not max the cpu then nothing you do normally will come ...
There is option in bios to limit max temp and cpu will self-adjust to it, but will mean it will slow down a bit when it reaches max temp. You can set there a limit of 85 or 80C. There is also option to adjust cpu fan curve and you can set it higher, like 55C start using 100% fan speed. This will keep cpu a bit cooler, but may be noisier.
ADMIN MOD. 14700k gaming/normal use temps experience. Information. Got my new build set up yesterday with the following and wanted to give my personal data points on cooling this chip. gigabyte z790 auros elite x wifi 7 motherboard (just released) nzxt h7 flow case. nzxt kraken 280 aio (mounted as top exhaust) 3x 140mm fans as front intake.
Ryzen 5 5600x, arctic liquid freezer ii 280. Pbo+co till 4.8ghz. Idle 28-32 celcius Gaming max 69 celcius. Cinebench20 73 c max. Ambient temp 23-21 c As l understand while gaming temp just spikes till 69, whole time sits till 63 c. IT is boosting like crazy and keeps 4.8 ghz all the time. I love this cpu 👍😎.
If properly mounted, you should expect temperatures at idle to be 10-15c. over ambient. To mount the Intel stock cooler properly, place the motherboard on top of the foam or cardboard backing that was packed with the motherboard. The stock cooler will come with paste pre applied, it looks like three grey strips.
While playing demanding games (Cyberpunk 2077, Control, Doom eternal) CPU temp sits at around 70-78 C whereas on less demanding games it stays cool at 58 - 67 C. In almost all (gaming) cases though, liquid temps rise to around 40 C pretty easily, and on the more demanding games (Cyberpunk) can peak at 45 C (that's the max I've seen).
Check in BIOS your CPU lite load and PL1, PL2 wattage. I have 14900kf and 280 AIO paired with 32GB RAM and 3080. Temps full load OCCT max 80c with 5GHz pcore and 4GHz ecore. Playing Cyberpunk max settings 30% CPU load and temps around 60-70. In BIOS I have XMP 6600 and PL1, PL2 set to stock (253W) and CPU Lite load for "Mode 3".
