Having GPU/CPU under 60C underload to be considered ideal is insane. This is not available for most people unless you have some fancy open-loop water cooled set up. Anything under 80C is ideal/good. 80-90C is okay. And 90+, you need to check case/fan set up. New GPUs are rated to reach high temperatures now and even if it gets that high it'll ...
sk9592. •. Anything under 95C is considered safe. But personally, I would keep it below 85C for long term use. Gaming should not stress the CPU at a constant 100%. So if you're consistently seeing temps above 85C, there is something that needs to be fixed. Reply. eddydots. •.
There is option in bios to limit max temp and cpu will self-adjust to it, but will mean it will slow down a bit when it reaches max temp. You can set there a limit of 85 or 80C. There is also option to adjust cpu fan curve and you can set it higher, like 55C start using 100% fan speed. This will keep cpu a bit cooler, but may be noisier.
For the cpu, below 80C is good, below 90C is fine, up to 95C is alright for short periods of time, above that is an issue. To cool it use a cooling pad, try undervolting, repast, limit fps, disable boost, lower ambient temperature, play in a walk-in freezer, Legit, anything under 100c it will run for 10 years or more.
Specs: i5 13600k. 2x16 GB DDR5 6000Mhz. 7900 XT. Deepcool AK620. Running CoD:MW2 and Warzone at Ultra settings on 1440p. My CPU temps maxed out around 85c. I haven't had a chance to try in other games yet but just wanted to get a sense of where my max temp should top out. Thanks!
Check in BIOS your CPU lite load and PL1, PL2 wattage. I have 14900kf and 280 AIO paired with 32GB RAM and 3080. Temps full load OCCT max 80c with 5GHz pcore and 4GHz ecore. Playing Cyberpunk max settings 30% CPU load and temps around 60-70. In BIOS I have XMP 6600 and PL1, PL2 set to stock (253W) and CPU Lite load for "Mode 3".
XMP all 3 ARCTIC P14 PWM case fans to a fixed 1200 rpm cpu fan set to auto - standard. Running Win10, no background programs. Monitoring via HWinfo64 ("cpu tctl/tdie" value). Idle, the CPU stays at 35 to 37 Celsius In cinebench r23 all-core, the CPU holds steady between 84 to 86 C In cinebench r23 single-core, the CPU holds at a steady 58 C
Then they test it to see how 'good' the CPU is, and based on it's flaws it's 'binned'. These flaws generate heat when current is applied. So more flaws = less voltage can be applied to cpu = worse cpu = more heat generated by CPU. Less flaws = more voltage can be applied = better cpu with better thermals.
ADMIN MOD. 14700k gaming/normal use temps experience. Information. Got my new build set up yesterday with the following and wanted to give my personal data points on cooling this chip. gigabyte z790 auros elite x wifi 7 motherboard (just released) nzxt h7 flow case. nzxt kraken 280 aio (mounted as top exhaust) 3x 140mm fans as front intake.
Here's an article I believe it will bring you a peace of mind: AMD views Ryzen 5000 CPU temperatures up to 95C as ‘typical and by design’ | PC Gamer. Note: I know it has been 5 months already and probably you had your answers but I believe many people will still get in here as they buy this same CPU. 1. MadCirKil.
