richhomieram. •. The hegelian dialectic is not an argumentative form, it is moreso an attempt to use historical context and contradictions in ideas to form new concrete ideas. The form would go something like Abstraction, negation, concrete, in which the abstract idea would use the power of contradiction innate to the idea to construct a new ...
This is core of Hegelian Dialectic, which is an “upgrade” of Platonic Dialectic which accepts reductio ad absurdum argument which says that if I can counter your argument, then it must be false. Here we go past skepticism and we better our understanding of our thesis (shape of the Earth) via synthesis (crossing ideas to come to ellipsoid ...
Hegel was a german philosopher of the German idealist school of thought. He was highly influenced by kant and a lot of other people and ge influenced a lot of thinkers (ex Marx). The dialectic is essentially one of his major ideas (other philosophers had their own versions of it pre and post hegel) it's essentially a type of logic.
Marx did not understand Hegel's dialectic as "thesis-antithesis-synthesis," and many Marxists criticized that reading of Hegel. The "triad" stuff is an old misreading and comes from before Marx's time. Check out the introductions to The Shorter & Greater Logics by Hegel. Some of the most clear explanations of the "dialectic" can be found in ...

The Hegelian dialectic is an understanding about how ideas evolve over time. It says that once an argument is made somebody else who disagrees with the argument will make an anti-argument. Over time the first argument and the opposing argument grind against each other and eventually come together to form a new argument.
To understand Hegelian dialectic, you first need to understand what Hegel calls the "abstract" or the "positive" or the "understanding". This is when we put forward a certain conception or perspective on some matter, and we take this conception or perspective to be the definitive statement on the nature of that matter.
The Absolute Idea is this magical force that creates the concrete evidence of the Spirit. To put it another way, think about a math equation: Assume there is an object x and its opposite -x. (And these objects are a "thesis" or "abstract" or positive idea and its critical "negation" or "antithesis"). There is a function G such that x and -x ...
