The company had expertise in nuclear operations, having designed and built the plutonium production complex at the Hanford site for the Manhattan Project during World War II.
The company was formerly known as Westinghouse Savannah River Company LLC, changing its name to Washington Savannah River Company, LLC in September 2005. The company was founded in 1989 and is based in Aiken, South Carolina. The new firm assumed the operation of the Savannah River Site from DuPont who had built and run the plant from 1950. [1]

Ringland is a village and civil parish in Norfolk, England, and in the valley of the River Wensum, approximately 7 miles (11 km) north-west of Norwich. Parts of the Wensum valley within the parish constitute a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Ringland had a 2021 population of 236, in an area of 1.95 square miles (5.1 km 2).
