Alka-Seltzer is an effervescent antacid and pain reliever owned by Bayer since 1978. First marketed by the Dr. Miles Medicine Company of Elkhart, Indiana , United States , Alka-Seltzer contains three active ingredients: aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid or ASA), sodium bicarbonate , and anhydrous citric acid . Alka-Seltzer Original flavor only active ingredient is Aspirin, it says so right on the box. Indigestion relief is now only available with Alka-Seltzer Heartburn Relief Extra Strength. There is also Alka-Seltzer Hangover relief which has Aspirin in addition to caffeine. Also Alka-Seltzer has chews, gummies and fizzy melts.
