Arlington Mill Reservoir, known locally as "Arlington Pond", is a 269-acre (109 ha) [1] impoundment located in Rockingham County in southern New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Salem. It is located along the Spicket River , a small stream that flows south to the Merrimack River in Lawrence, Massachusetts .
The lakes lie at an elevation of 1 meter above sea level, within the towns of Winchester, Arlington, and Medford, Massachusetts. Upper Mystic Lake is fed by the Aberjona River , and drains south, over the Mystic Dam , into Lower Mystic Lake, which in turn empties into the Mystic River and then Boston Harbor .
Fresh Pond Reservation consists of a 155-acre (627,000 m²) kettle hole lake, and 162 acres (656,000 m²) of surrounding land, with a 2.25 mile (3.6 km) perimeter road popular with walkers, runners and cyclists, and a nine-hole golf course. [4]

Ice fishing and fly fishing take place on these waters in addition to bait-casting. In 2006, a few fish pulled from Mashpee and Wakeby Ponds won awards from MassWildlife's Freshwater Sportfish Awards Program. Among these were a 7 lb 3 oz (3.3 kg) white catfish and a 1 lb 5 oz (0.60 kg) sunfish.

The river flows from the Lower Mystic Lake and travels through East Boston, Chelsea, Charlestown, Everett, Medford, Somerville, and Arlington. The river joins the Charles River to form inner Boston Harbor. Its watershed contains 44 lakes and ponds, the largest of which is Spot Pond in the Middlesex Fells, with an area of 307 acres (124 ha).
