The Rosedale Historic District in Homewood, Alabama is a historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. The listing included 143 contributing buildings on 250 acres (1.0 km 2). [1] Another part of the Rosedale Neighborhood is included in the NRHP as Rosedale Park Historic District (Homewood, Alabama).
The park was renamed from Overlook Park to Wright Brothers Park on July 2, 2013, in dedication to the Wright Brothers. The park underwent renovations and redecoration for the dedication. One of the objects of redecoration is a full-scale replica of the Wright Flyer which is right above the Alabama River. [1] [2]
Homewood High School fields varsity teams in football, cheerleading, basketball, baseball, soccer, wrestling, golf, tennis, softball, volleyball, lacrosse, cross country running/track and field. The football team has won a 4A state championship in 1974, and 5A state championships in 1995, 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2005. [ 5 ]
