Lucille "Lucy" Van Pelt [1] is a fictional character in the syndicated comic strip Peanuts, written and drawn by Charles Schulz. She is the older sister of Linus and Rerun . Lucy is characterized as a "fussbudget", crabby, [ 2 ] [ 3 ] bossy and opinionated girl who bullies most other characters in the strip, particularly Linus and Charlie Brown .
The special was released on VHS by Hi-Tops Video in 1987 and Paramount Home Video on June 25, 1996. It was released for the first time on DVD alongside Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales as a CVS Pharmacy Exclusive offer on November 3, 2009, and then solicited to the wider market in 2010.

Snoopy tries to get Lucy to ask him to join her in the skating show, but she's only interested in Schroeder. Later, he dresses up like Santa Claus to work as a bell-ringer to raise money. He is briefly confronted by an angry Rerun, who chastises him for failing to deliver the toys promised to him the previous Christmas.
Van Pelt's dialogue was eventually phased out in favor of a style in which adults' dialogue was only implied and the conversations depicted solely from the child characters' side; in the Peanuts animated cartoons, this was adapted as the adults' "speaking" being represented by the unintelligible sounds of a muted trombone ("mwah-mwah-mwah").
On the day of Linus' birthday party, Linus wonders where Mimi could be. Lucy and Sally bring out Linus' birthday cake and light the candles, and everybody starts singing "Happy Birthday" to him. Linus tries to get them to stop, but to no avail. As soon as everybody finishes singing, Linus hears Mimi singing "Happy Birthday" from outside.
Later, Lucy goes to a "pawpet" show held by Snoopy. With Charlie Brown as the narrator, Snoopy tells a story about true love. At home, when Sally tries to make a valentine with very little success, Charlie Brown tries to show her how to cut out a heart, only to get upstaged by Snoopy, who makes a music box themed valentine.
Linus Van Pelt thinks that Charlie Brown would make a great president, but Charlie is convinced that nobody would vote for him. Lucy appoints herself his campaign manager and takes a student poll, which only confirms Charlie's belief (which is possibly a lie).
