    Yeah, there's no better way to learn phone repair than practice. As someone who does on board repair, don't try soldering on phones yet and also be very careful with batteries. I would reccomend buying some cheap broken phones you actually wanna fix and before them about 10-20 for opening practice. Focus on doing simple tasks good and then move on.

    The three most important things about replacing the iPhone 6 is . 1, Proximity sensor and flex seating. 2, DO not damage the home button. 3, Test everything before returning. Sounds to me like they failed at least two of these on the first attempt and then maybe damaged the home button on one of your return visits.

    If you can open up iPhones and Samsung, you pretty much can do anything. A lot of shops actually don't even provide soldering services. They would quite often bring phones that need soldering to other shops that do it. If you really want to learn soldering, you will need to invest money into equipment.
