Falls Lake is a 12,410 acre (50 km 2) reservoir located in Durham, Wake, and Granville counties in North Carolina, United States. It extends 28 miles (45 km) up the Neuse River to its source at the confluence of the Eno , Little , and Flat rivers, and has a shoreline of 175 miles (280 km).
Granville County and St. John's Parish were established on June 28, 1746, from the upper part of Edgecombe County. [3] It was named for the John Carteret, 2nd Earl Granville, [4] who as heir to one of the eight original Lords Proprietors of the Province of Carolina, claimed one eighth of the land granted in the charter of 1665.
Falls Lake State Recreation Area is a North Carolina state park in Durham and Wake counties, North Carolina in the United States. Near Wake Forest, North Carolina , it covers 5,035 acres (20.38 km 2 ) [ 1 ] along the shores of 12,410-acre (50.2 km 2 ) Falls Lake .
Creedmoor is located in southern Granville County and is bordered to the west by the town of Butner. U.S. Route 15 passes through Creedmoor as Durham Avenue, leading north 14 miles (23 km) to Oxford, the Granville County seat, and southwest 16 miles (26 km) to Durham. North Carolina Highway 56 crosses US 15 just west of the center of town.

Historic Neuse River Bride at Falls, North Carolina. On Nov. 24th, 1846, the owner of certain property, Jas. D. Newsom, at the Falls (described as being 13 miles north of Raleigh on the Raleigh-Oxford Road) placed 113 acres for sale containing a grist mill, a saw mill, a tan yard, and store houses.
