The Remington Model 58, also known as the Sportsman 58, is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by Remington Arms in the mid-20th century. It was Remington's first gas operated shotgun and was marketed alongside the recoil operated Model 11-48.

The Model 1000 was available in 12-gauge and 20-gauge, with trap (1000T) and skeet (1000S) variants. Both gauges were offered with 2 + 3 ⁄ 4-inch (7.0 cm) chambers; the 12-gauge was also sold with a 3-inch (7.6 cm) chamber for magnum shotshells. The Remington Model 11-48 is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by Remington Arms as the first of its "new generation" semi-automatics produced after World War II. [1] Released as the replacement for the Remington Model 11, it was manufactured from 1949 to 1968 and was produced in 12, 16, 20 and 28 gauge and .410 variations.
