La Valencia Hotel is a hotel in the La Jolla community of San Diego, California, known also as "The Pink Lady of La Jolla". It was built in the 1920s in a Spanish Colonial Revival –style that is known for views of La Jolla Cove , and its historic associations with early 20th century Hollywood glamor.
English: The La Valencia Hotel at 1132 Prospect Street in La Jolla, San Diego, Californbia, opened in 1926 as an apartment hotel, and was named "La Valencia" in 1928. It expanded in the 1940s and 1950s, and also acquired the La Cabrillo Hotel next door – built in 1908 and opened in 1909, and now called the West Wing – during this time.
That same year the Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza was sold by the owner Van Trust and the name was changed to La Fontaine. In 2018, Valencia opened the 152-room Texican Court in the Las Colinas neighborhood of Irving, Texas. [citation needed] In 2020, Valencia has plans to open the 169-room Cotton Court in downtown Lubbock, TX. [7] [8]
