"Bring On the Rain" is a song written by Billy Montana and Helen Darling and recorded by American country music artist Jo Dee Messina. It was released in September 2001 as the fourth single from her album Burn. In March 2002, it became Messina's fifth number one country single, and her highest entry on the Adult Contemporary charts.
Two versions of the song, both performed by Lennon, appear in the 2006 film, Children of Men.The standard version of the song (originally released on the Mind Games album) is heard during the course of the film, and an alternate version of the song, originally released on the 1998 John Lennon Anthology boxed set, is featured over the closing credits.
The song spent two weeks at number 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart in May 2005, becoming Messina's first number 1 hit since "Bring On the Rain" in March 2002 and also, the final number 1 hit of her career.
