Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame (2007) Richard A. Bennett (born April 20, 1943) is an American former college basketball coach who is best known for building the Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball program into a mid-major power and revitalizing the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program .
The stadium is named in honor of Don Williams, a former member of the UW–Stout Board of Directors, and his wife, Nona. The couple made a significant contribution towards the construction of the stadium. The UW–Stout football team played its home games at Nelson Field on the UW–Stout campus through the beginning of the 2001 season.
