Dirk Verbeuren (born 8 January 1975) is a Belgian musician and the current drummer of American thrash metal band Megadeth, amongst other projects.He previously was a member of the Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork.
Megadeth recorded Last Rites, a three-song demo, in 1984, which featured drummer Lee Rauch and Ellefson. [2] Slayer guitarist Kerry King covered live dates at Ruthie's Inn and The Stone while a permanent replacement was sought. [1] Jazz fusion drummer Gar Samuelson would go on to join the band.
Bandleader Dave Mustaine knew Behler because Gar Samuelson, the previous drummer for the band, used Behler as his drum tech. Behler eventually was fired by Mustaine for being a cocaine addict [2] and gave up his place in Megadeth to his own drum tech, Nick Menza. Before Megadeth, Behler was a member of The Meanies and Sinclair, among other groups.

Former Metallica lead guitarist Dave Mustaine formed Megadeth shortly after having been abruptly fired from Metallica for "his problems with drink, drugs, and aggression towards fellow bandmembers".
