Teachers’ Training College, Rangpur was established in the year 1882. It is located in one of the divisional cities of Bangladesh, Rangpur. It is 350 kilometers away from the capital city, Dhaka. This is a training institute for the teachers of secondary level school teachers. Teachers come here for their professional development.
The college opened on March 27, 1980, a little over one year after the end of Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge regime. After several relocations, it is now at a site previously used as Soryavaraman II Secondary High School between Siem Reap and Angkor Wat .

Four years later, the president of Zambia at the time, Kenneth Kaunda, renamed the college Nkrumah Teachers College, in honor of Kwame Nkrumah, the first Prime Minister and first President of Ghana.
