Disney Skyliner is a gondola lift system connecting four Disney resort hotels and two theme parks. Opened in 2019, [20] [21] the Skyliner has three lines radiating from a central hub located at the Caribbean Beach Resort. These lines extend to: [22] [23] Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park.
The Transportation and Ticket Center (commonly abbreviated TTC) is an intermodal transportation hub served by monorails, ferries, and buses at the Walt Disney World Resort. The station serves all three lines of the Walt Disney World Monorail System, as well as conventional bus and taxis in the Greater Orlando Region.
Disney's Magical Express commenced operations in 2005. It initially faced strong opposition from the Greater Orlando Livery Association and Orlando-area ground transportation companies and taxi cab operators, who argued that it allows Disney to "whisk away" potential customers who would otherwise have continued on to a taxi cab or private transportation service for transportation to their hotel.
The system opened with the rest of the Walt Disney World Resort on October 1, 1971. It initially featured four stations: the Transportation and Ticket Center, Disney's Polynesian Resort, the Magic Kingdom and Disney's Contemporary Resort. The Epcot line and station were added during that park's construction, opening on October 1, 1982.
