Map of all utility-scale power plants. This article lists the largest electricity generating stations in the United States in terms of installed electrical capacity. Non-renewable power stations are those that run on coal, fuel oils, nuclear, natural gas, oil shale, and peat, while renewable power stations run on fuel sources such as biomass, geothermal heat, hydro, solar energy, solar heat ...
Unit 2 during its time in operation, viewed from the west. The Three Mile Island Unit 2 was also a pressurized water reactor constructed by B&W, similar to Unit 1. TMI-2 was slightly larger with a net generating capacity of 906 MW e, compared to TMI-1, which delivered 819 MW e. Unit 2 received its operating license on February 8, 1978, and ...

Peach Bottom 2 and 3, General Electric boiling water reactors, went on-line in 1974, and are still in operation on the 620-acre (2.5 km 2) site today. Both Units 2 and 3, originally rated at 3,514 megawatts thermal (MW th ), equivalent to about 1,180 megawatts of electricity (MW e ) each, were uprated to 4,016 megawatts thermal (MW th ...
