The EEP for African Elephants at Noah's Ark is a bachelor programme, wherein only males of the species inhabit the enclosure, to provide a home while waiting for a breeding opportunity. In September 2012, the zoo began building an elephant sanctuary of 20 acres (8.1 ha); the first elephant arrived in February 2014.

The Park is also home to Operation Chough a conservation project established at Paradise Park 1987. In 1989, Mike Reynolds set up the World Parrot Trust, [7] a registered charity. This organisation works for conservation in the wild as well as at Paradise Park. So far the Trust has helped the survival of 80 species of parrot in 43 countries.
The zoo is situated within a 400-acre (160 ha) Northumberland College campus, which is also shared with Kirkley Hall.It is used solely as an educational training facility for students enrolled on animal care courses, except on weekends, bank holidays and school holidays when it also opens as a visitor attraction. The Wingham Brush Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve that is located in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The 8-hectare (20-acre) reserve is a rare [ 2 ] example of sub tropical lowland rainforest and is situated on the Manning River .
