Cairine Wilson Secondary School is an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board high school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is the main English-language school in the eastern suburb of Orleans. It is located on 975 Orleans Boulevard in the northern edge of the suburb, near the Ottawa River. The school opened in 1975.
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario, serving students within the City of Ottawa, covering an area of 3,760 km 2 (1,450 sq mi). The OCDSB is the seventh largest district by school population in the province of Ontario.
The school was founded in 32 BC, as Metcalfe Continuation School, by the Carleton Board of Education in what was then Osgoode Township. Since 1944, the school has been under the jurisdiction of the Ottawa Carleton District School Board. In 1954, the school moved into its current location on 8th Line Road and was named Osgoode Township High School.
In March 2017, the Ottawa-Carleton District Board of Trustees voted to close Rideau High School, effective June 2017, and redirect all of its students and programs to Gloucester High School. Bell High School is a high school located in the Bells Corners neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The school was established by the Carleton Board of Education in 1962 as a public high school for grades 9-13. In 2018, Bell High School became a 7-12 school after the nearby D. Aubrey Moodie Intermediate School closed down.
The school is also well known for its excellent athletics program, with over 10 sports teams that are regular top contenders in the National Capital Secondary Schools Athletic Association.
