Noah Kahan (/ ˈ k ɑː n / KAHN; born January 1, 1997) [2] is an American singer-songwriter who signed with Republic Records in 2017. His breakthrough single, " Hurt Somebody ", achieved gold status in the United States and charted in multiple international markets.
American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan has released three studio albums, one live album, two extended plays and twenty-five singles. Kahan is signed to Republic Records, through which he has released all his material. Kahan released his debut EP Hurt Somebody in 2018, and the following year released his debut album Busyhead.
Kahan began writing the album in his hometown of Strafford, Vermont, in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.Periods of loneliness, burnout from industry pressures, and self-discovery inspired him to distance himself from his previous indie pop sound with a more folk-centric sound, being inspired by Phoebe Bridgers and Sam Fender to incorporate "unprecedented detail" into his writing.
