Gin eventually murdered the agent. Some time later, Conan, Ran, the Detective Boys, Dr. Agasa and Kogoro are invited to the resort at Hachijo-jima owned by Sonoko's family. Conan later received information from Subaru Okiya that a Europol agent is being murdered and a Black Organization agent known as "Pinga" is responsible for the break-in.
Around the same time, a kendo tournament was being held in Hakodate, and Heiji Hattori and Soshi Okita came to Hakodate to participate in the tournament. Conan found a text document in the computer stating three customers who hated the victim. However based on the time of death and the timing of the text document, all three of them are framed. Conan begin to investigate and realised that culprit is still one of the three suspects. He tranquilised Kogoro and solve the case.

Conan and his friends have come to investigate the identity of this figure who resembles a kamaitachi, a supernatural demon.
