The Moravian Female Seminary was incorporated by the Pennsylvania State Legislature in 1863 and became the women's college, the Moravian Seminary and College for Women in 1913. Reichel, Charles Gotthold - was born in Germany on July 14, 1751, Reichel came in 1784 to America to open a boarding school for boys at Nazareth, which became Nazareth Hall and is still in existence as Moravian College. As pastor at Nazareth he presided as its first principal for sixteen years. He was made bishop in 1801.
