Manila Doctors Hospital (MDH), simply referred to as Manila Doctors or MaDocs, is a tertiary hospital located in Ermita, Manila, Philippines with over 500 beds. It is staffed by more than 300 doctors. A wide range of specialties are covered up to tertiary care level, including internal medicine, endoscopy, surgery (including bariatric surgery and renal transplantation), dentistry, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology and physical rehabilitation. The hospital has interests in developing medical tourism.
The Republic Act No. 8345 signed on June 4, 1997, increased the authorized bed capacity of the hospital from 350 to 600. [ 5 ] [ 4 ] The allowed 600 bed capacity was fulfilled on August 17, 2020, when the new 250 bed capacity EAMC building was completed and inaugurated.
On June 19, 1965, the North General Hospital was renamed Dr. Jose R. Reyes Memorial Hospital in honor of Jose Reyes y Reyes for his service as the Director of the hospital from March 16, 1948, up to his death in 1964. At present, it is known as Jose R.
