The Super Pocket is a handheld game console developed by Hyper Mega Tech!, a brand of British company Blaze Entertainment. In addition to built-in collections of retro video games , the console features a cartridge slot and is compatible with all of Blaze's Evercade cartridges, despite not being branded as an Evercade device.
At launch on 20 May 2020, the Evercade handheld console had 10 game cartridges available, providing a total of 122 games. [1] Physical cartridges and cases feature color-coded artwork and numbering correlating to which collection the cartridge is part of: console, arcade, or home computer. [2]
It is designed to nest snugly into the original Game Boy (though it will loosely fit into the Pocket and Color systems; it will fit into the Super Game Boy only after physical modification of the Game Genie.) The cartridge is inserted with the label facing inward. A compartment on the back holds the tiny code book containing codes for the system.
In July 2023, Blaze Entertainment unveiled its new line of Super Pocket handhelds to be produced under the company's new HyperMegaTech brand. The codes were printed on sticky labels to put on the back of the Game Gear cartridge. When entering codes, the player could easily see what to type in rather than looking through the book. In the code input menu for the Game Gear Game Genie, a player typing the word "DEAD" will cause the screen to move up and down, possibly as an Easter egg.
