The Vero Theatre (also known as the Florida Theatre or Theatre Plaza) is a historic theater in Vero Beach, Florida. Located at 2036 14th Avenue, the Vero Theatre was designed in the Mediterranean Revival style by architect F.H. Trimble .
The theatre was originally founded in 1979 as the Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater, owned and operated by the namesake actor. During the Dinner Theater's operating years, 1979-1996, it featured more celebrity performers than any other arts venue in Palm Beach County, including the opening season's Vanities (starring Sally Field, Tyne Daly, and Gail Strickland). The facility first opened in 1967, and currently serves as a venue for musical concerts, theater, dance, and lectures. The facility, upon completion, was named for Henry Philip Constans, the founder of the Florida Players (originally called the dramatic club of the University of Florida).
Ritz Theatre. The Ritz Theatre is an African-American oriented theatre in the LaVilla neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida. The theater, which seats 426, is used for a variety of music, dance and theatrical productions, as well as movies. The spacious lobby is also used for private functions.
