The Parish of Saint Veronica was organized in 1872 for the predominantly Irish emigrants living in North Philadelphia. A chapel was erected at the New Cathedral Cemetery (Catholic) and a second chapel and school were completed in 1894. The Church of St. Veronica opened in 1909. [2] Today the congregation is largely Hispanic, Black and Filipino.

The first St. Cyprian Church was established in 2000 when Saint Carthage and Transfiguration of Our Lord consolidated. St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church then moved to a new location on Maspeth Avenue and 61st Street. A new church building for the Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church was built in 1935. However, its present-day and modern-day looking structure was built in 1962. The 1935 structure of the building is now being used as a parish hall. [3]

Most Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church, Rectory and Parochial School is a historic Roman Catholic Church complex located at 2800–2818 Diamond Street in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The school was built between 1908 and 1912, the rectory in 1914, and the church between 1924 and 1927. [2]
The first Catholic church in Philadelphia was Saint Joseph's, which was built in 1733. As the Catholic Church grew, a new church called Saint Mary's was built in 1763; it became Philadelphia's first cathedral in 1810. As the Catholic Church continued to grow, Saint John the Evangelist was made the cathedral in 1838 when a larger church was needed.
