On July 31, 2007, WHTA began using a new slogan, "Hot 107.9, Your Digital Hip Hop Station." In October 2008, WHTA became the Atlanta network affiliate of the Rickey Smiley Morning Show. It was originally based at co-owned KBFB in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. In 2011, WHTA became the flagship station for the show.
At the launch, then-"Hot 97.5" was the first urban station in Atlanta to feature hip hop and rap music in regular rotation, given the fact that hip hop and rap music on radio was still a niche genre at the time for Atlanta in spite of its major African American presence in the audience and the music culture.

St. Clair was a co-host on "Philly's Morning Show" with Shamara on Hot 107.9, the station's first all-female morning show. She was also a voice artist on the Little Brother studio album, May the Lord Watch. She was also a guest star on the Love & Hip Hop Season 8 TV special, "Love & Hip Hop Awards: Most Certified" that aired April 1, 2019.
On April 4, it became hip-hop Streetz 102.9, but went silent a few days later when the person responsible for the new station, the former head of the Radio One Atlanta station group, was sued by Radio One for allegedly using his former position to take the group's intellectual property (including remixes) and violating a non-compete clause.
