RTM TV2 (stylised as tv2) is a Malaysian free-to-air public television channel owned and operated by the Radio Televisyen Malaysia, a broadcasting department of the Malaysian Government. Launched on 17 November 1969, TV2 is the second and second oldest TV station in Malaysia.
On 19 April 2013, RTM announced an online alternative new channel called Portal 1News to complement its TV1 and TV2 news bulletins, which was launched in August 2013. The channel was hosted on the 1news.rtm.gov.my portal and provided news in video format in four-hour intervals from 9am to 10pm daily.
The SD version of FOX (Channel 710) officially ceased transmission and broadcasting on 16 November 2014. They were officially upgraded to FOX HD (Channel 724) until FOX HD officially ceased broadcasting and transmission on 30 September 2021 at 11:59:59pm and was replaced by Disney+ Hotstar that formally launched on 1 June 2021. 2015
There are eight channels; three of them are government public-owned by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM). The three television channels are terrestrial free-to-air TV1 , TV2 and Okey (formerly TVi). TV Alhijrah is owned by Alhijrah Media Corporation while TV3 , NTV7 , 8TV and TV9 are private and commercially owned by Media Prima .
Thus far, besides simulcasting TV1 and TV2, RTM is currently airing RTMi, Muzik Aktif and Arena exclusively on the digital TV platform, transmitted at UHF channel 44, modulated at 64QAM, in test forms.
