Huttonsville was named for Jonathan Hutton, a pioneer settler. [5] [6] Located at Huttonsville are the E. E. Hutton House and Tygarts Valley Church, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [2] It lies at the western side of the complex along Jefferson Avenue and is considered the front, as this is where the main entrance is located.
