Wiley University (formerly Wiley College) is a private historically black college in Marshall, Texas. Founded in 1873 by the Methodist Episcopal Church 's Bishop Isaac Wiley and certified in 1882 by the Freedman's Aid Society , it is one of the oldest predominantly black colleges west of the Mississippi River .

The 1957 Wiley Wildcats football team represented Wiley College as a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the 1957 college football season. Led by 27th-year head coach Fred T. Long, the Wildcats compiled an overall record of 10–0–1, with a conference record of 6–0, and finished as SWAC champion.
The 1962 Wiley Wildcats football team represented Wiley College as a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the 1962 NCAA College Division football season. Led by 32nd-year head coach Fred T. Long, the Wildcats compiled an overall record of 3–5–1, with a conference record of 1–5–1, and finished eighth in the SWAC.
