Leonard W. Briscoe is a fictional character on NBC's long-running police procedural and legal drama television series Law & Order. [1] He was created by Walon Green and René Balcer and portrayed by Jerry Orbach.
The character first appeared in season 7 and lasted for only two seasons before briefly appearing on the short-lived spinoff Law & Order: Trial by Jury where she had been promoted to a trial judge.
