The course dates, fees, course format (e.g. face-to-face learning, distance learning) are determined by each centre. The exact nature of each course will vary from centre to centre, [13] but all courses will cover the same content points, as set out in the Delta syllabus developed by Cambridge English Language Assessment.
Anaheim University claims to be one of the first online universities in the United States to offer graduate degree programs entirely online. The university is made up of three graduate schools and is best known for its online degree and certificate programs in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
The online materials can be accessed at any time allowing students to plan their course work around other professional / personal commitments. The online course is conducted over a minimum of ten weeks and maximum of an academic year. Each online course has a minimum of three and a maximum of 24 candidates.
Level 1: Preliminary Certificate of Educational Studies in TESOL. Level 2: Certificate of Educational Studies in TESOL. Level 3: Certificate in the Theory and Methodology of TESOL. In 2013, following agreement from the Council, these levels were revised in an effort to standardise criteria with reference to nationally understood benchmarks.
Qualification requirements vary by country and among employers in a country. A number of institutions do not require a degree or teaching certificate, but some require native speakers with a master's degree in TESOL. University degrees in English language and literature or other specialist degrees may also be valuable.
Candidates for the LTCL Diploma TESOL examinations must have: a degree or equivalent; two years full-time ESOL teaching experience or equivalent over a longer period, amounting to a minimum of 960 teaching hours; an initial formal TESOL training qualification is highly recommended, but not essential
