Leong was born in 1925 in Kuching, the son of a tailor. [1] His father died when young John was eight and the family moved to Miri, where he was educated at St. Joseph's Secondary School in the said town and later returned to Kuching and resumed his studies in the school of the same name as well as in St. Thomas' Secondary School, Kuching. [1]
Wong Shun-leung (Chinese: 黃淳樑; pinyin: Huang Chunliáng; Jyutping: Wong4 Seon4-loeng4; 8 May 1935 – 28 January 1997) was a Hong Kong martial artist who studied Wing Chun kung fu under Yip Man (葉問) [1] and was credited with training Bruce Lee.
