Phnom Penh's 14 districts are called khan (ខណ្ឌ) and their subdivisions sangkat (សង្កាត់), which are smaller in the other provinces. Sangkat are further subdivided into phum, which are usually translated as villages, though they do not necessarily cover one single settlement.
Khan Pou Senchey was established in 2011 by taking the following 13 Sangkats from Khan Dangkao: Trapeang Krasang, Kouk Roka, Phleung Chheh Roteh, Chaom Chau, Kakab, Samraong Kraom, Krang Thnong, Boeng Thum, Kamboul, Kantaok, Ovlaok, Ponsang and Snaor.
This khan was created on January 8, 2019, according to sub-decree 04 អនក្រ.បក by taking 6 sangkats from Khan Pou Senchey, [2] and 1 sangkat (Sangkat Prateah Lang) from Khan Dangkao. [3] It has a population of 75,529.
