Pleasant Ridge is home to many artists and musicians. On October 11, 2008 Pleasant Ridge and neighboring community Kennedy Heights formed an Alliance called District A, a grassroots effort to build community partnerships and fuel economic development through the arts along the Montgomery Road corridor that is the main thoroughfare for both communities.

Oakley is one of the 52 neighborhoods of Cincinnati, Ohio. Located in the eastern part of the city, it borders Pleasant Ridge, Madisonville, and Hyde Park. Oakley is a primary thoroughfare and a major crosstown artery in Cincinnati, and contains multiple shopping centers. The population was 11,761 at the 2020 census. [1]

As of the census of 2020, there were 5,166 people living in the neighborhood. There were 2,716 housing units. The racial makeup of the neighborhood was 31.5% White, 58.4% Black or African American, 0.5% Native American, 0.9% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 3.0% from some other race, and 5.7% from two or more races. 4.5% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Mount Washington was laid out in 1846 and received its city rights in 1867. The community was annexed by the City of Cincinnati in 1911. [2] [3] A major local landmark for Mount Washington is the Mount Washington Water Tower, a concrete water tower that went into service in November 1940.
The township's population grew further as the Cincinnati Street Railway extended lines further into the suburbs between 1890 and 1910. Cincinnati annexed Madisonville, Pleasant Ridge, Oakley, and Kennedy Heights between 1911 and 1914. [12] From the 1920s, car ownership spurred additional growth in the southwestern corner of the township.
