In Flames is a Swedish heavy metal band, formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in Gothenburg in 1990 out of the Swedish death metal scene. Their lineup has changed several times, with vocalist Anders Fridén and guitarist Björn Gelotte being the only consistent members since 1995.
In 2003, In Flames released Trigger, an EP that features the title track backed with a remix, a cover of Genesis' "Land of Confusion", and two music videos. It was followed by Soundtrack to Your Escape in 2004, which peaked at number 3 in Sweden, and number 7 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart.

Björn Gelotte (born 27 August 1975) [2] is a Swedish guitarist and songwriter, best known as the guitarist for melodic death metal band In Flames.He originally joined the band as the drummer in 1995, and continued in this position during The Jester Race (1996) and Whoracle (1997).
Fridén started with In Flames on the 1996 album The Jester Race. On the album Whoracle , Niklas Sundin (of Dark Tranquillity ) wrote the lyrics following the original synopsis by Fridén. On the 1999 album Colony , Fridén composed the lyrics himself, though Sundin still assisted by translating his lyrics from Swedish to English.
