The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka is an autonomous organization and responsible for holding public examinations (JSC, SSC and HSC) in Dhaka Division and for providing recognition to the newly established non-government educational institutions and also for the supervision, control and developments of those institutions. They are responsible for conducting the examinations for the Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C) and the Higher Secondary (School) Certificate (H.S.C) level public examinations. S.S.C examination refers to 10th grade exams and H.S.C refers to 12th grade. The boards are also responsible for the recognition of private sector educational institutes.
The Technical Board was established on 7 March 1967 in pursuance of the Gazette no- 175.
