Ernest Kwamina Yedu Addison (born 1963) is a Ghanaian economist Who serves as the current and 15th governor of the Bank of Ghana. [1] He had previously worked at the same central bank as director of research from 2003 to 2011, [2] and as an economist at the African Development Bank.
In 1983, he was appointed Governor of the Bank of Ghana he served in that capacity until 1987. His consultancy firm, J.S. Addo Consultants Limited, did the study for the establishment of Ecobank Ghana and he later became the first Chairman of the Bank. He is also a former Managing Director and Chairman of National Investment Bank (NIB).
In 2001 he resigned from the IMF and was appointed by the then President of Ghana, John Kufuor as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana until 2009.
