Scott Alexander Young (April 14, 1918 – June 12, 2005) was a Canadian journalist, sportswriter, and novelist. He was the father of musicians Neil Young and Astrid Young . [ 1 ] Over his career, Young wrote 45 books, including novels and non-fiction for adult and youth audiences.
The next year Scott-Young joined the staff of the University of Sydney as a teaching fellow in the Department of Physiology. 1953 saw him in Townsville, as the medical superintendent, Townsville General Hospital, where he stayed until 1970. During this time he was also the leader of the Vietnam Surgical Team in Bien Hoa in 1968 and 1969.
